When I first heard about the “London Fields” movie, I was intrigued immediately. I love anything that has a good murder mystery, but this was especially exciting because it is about a murder that hasn’t happened yet. I really appreciated that this was something brand new, unlike most movies now.

One thing that stood out to me immediately was the amazing cast, as every single person was cast perfectly for their role.

“London Fields” is described as a dark comedy, which I think describes it perfectly. While it’s exhilarating to watch with the action, sex, and violent scenes there is dark humor throughout the movie. Not does it keep you on the edge of your seat, but you get a good laugh as you watch. It’s one of those movies where you really never know what is going to happen next, but you cannot wait to find out.

Nicola Six, played by Amber Heard was incredible in this movie. Before she even really said or did anything, you could just feel the sex appeal exuding from her. Nicola always knew just what men wanted, no matter what man she was interacting with. She was a genius at manipulation, and it was entertaining to watch her skillfully control the men around her.

While the other men, Guy(Theo James) and Keith(Jim Sturgess), are fighting over Nicola, Sam is intrigued with her for a different reason. This is brilliant, as it adds an entirely new angle to the film. Sam, played by Billy Bob Thornton, is a dying writer and he knows that Nicola is a perfect lead for his newest book. He watches her and writes the story as it unfolds in his eyes.

The entire film, I went back and forth on who would be the one to murder Nicola. While I had a suspicion that it would be Sam, I couldn’t be certain. There were always twists and turns, leading me to believe either Guy or Keith may kill her. Needless to say, I was shocked when the real killer was revealed.

In conclusion, I think that this movie was done thoughtfully with precision to detail. The cast played their roles exceptionally. There’s something entertaining for anyone who’s watching, and appropriate for a wide range of audiences. Personally, I would watch it again, and would probably catch something new and exciting that I hadn’t caught the first time. It is perfect for anyone who loves comedies, action, or murder mysteries. “London Fields” has been a long time coming, and I’m excited for it to officially be in theaters.
