You guys know that I’m focusing on my health this year. One topic that I don’t think is discussed enough when it comes to health and wellness is the health of your mouth. Using a high-quality toothpaste like Colgate TotalSF Advanced Whitening Toothpaste not only makes your mouth healthier but may also help improve your overall health. Many of you know, but I was a dental assistant for 7 years before I started blogging, and I’m still low-key obsessed with oral hygiene. I want to really lay it out for you in this article, so let’s chat about keeping your mouth healthy, teeth white, and breath fresh!
First and Foremost, Choose a High-Quality Toothpaste Like Colgate TotalSF
As a former dental assistant, you can imagine that I’m pretty picky when it comes to anything oral hygiene related. Colgate has always been a fan favorite at many of the offices I worked for, but now they have a new formula that pretty much checks all my boxes.
The new formula now:
- Reduces sensitivity + works well for those with sensitive teeth or gums
- Strengthens enamel + fights plaque and gingivitis
- Very minty, and will freshen your breath right up
- Removes staining off of teeth and whitens them
Really, what more can you ask for? You can get at a super affordable price at your local Walmart, so check it out next time you’re there.

Let’s Get Specific on my Toothbrushing Routine
Before I do anything when I wake up, I grab my Colgate TotalSF and start brushing my teeth and tongue real good. Bacteria just sits on your teeth and tongue every night, so the last thing you want to do is take a big gulp of water or coffee and swallow it down.
I’ll sometimes even give my teeth a quick brush after breakfast as well because of how minty fresh this toothpaste is. Make sure to use it on your tongue too, your breath will never be fresher!
Don’t press too hard when brushing, but make sure that you are brushing thoroughly. Brush your tongue as well as your teeth, and make sure you are brushing at least 2 minutes twice a day.
4 minutes a day is all it takes to fight bacteria, keep your mouth healthy, and teeth white!
I have been looking for a good toothpaste that could offer me more than one benefit. I love that when you use Colgate TotalSF you’ll not only have a healthy mouth, but you’ll also have minty fresh breath and a bright, white smile! It really doesn’t get better than that.
