Not sure about you, but my allergies have been kicking my ass. They make me tired (but make it hard to get sleep), give me headaches, and I have the worst under-eye circles when they get really bad. I’ve been trying to find ways to relieve allergies naturally for a while now. Meds work and all, but I don’t want to rely on them. My “seasonal” allergies are around all year round, so the idea of taking medicine every day like that isn’t going to work for me.

There are a few slight changes I’ve made to my bedroom that have made an enormous difference.

Use a HEPA Air Purifier

I’m not sure what took me so long to get a HEPA air purifier. I mean, it makes sense. When we breathe in dust or pet dander, our allergies get worse. Making sure the air you breathe is nice and clean is one of the best ways to relieve allergies naturally.

The one I use is small and I have it right next to my bed. Typically, my allergies are worse at night. So I like to turn it on about an hour before bed.

The one I use has a 3-stage filtration system, making sure that the air is as clean as possible. Otherwise, what’s the point? It’s also got four speeds – all of which are quiet. There’s a little white noise, but I kind of like it, TBH. One of my favorite things about it is that it lets you know the quality of your air with different color-coded lights. This will give you a good indication of how often and how long you’ll need to use it each day.

How to relieve allergies naturally

Get a Himalayan Salt Rock Lamp

There are a zillion reasons why you need a Himalayan salt rock lamp. In fact, I’ll probably write a post all about it. But since we’re focusing on how to relieve allergies naturally – we’ll stay on topic.

You can look into it more, but these lamps (that also look nice in a bedroom) neutralize electromagnetic radiation and help reduce artificial frequencies. This can boost your immune system, which helps not only with allergies but also with your health and mood!

Himalayan salt lamps actually help to clean the air through what’s called hygroscopy. Basically, it attracts and absorbs contaminated water molecules from your environment and locks them into the salt lamp. It has the amazing ability to remove dust, dander, and other contaminants from the air.

And again, the bedroom looks nice. I love the soft glow it gives off before bed. However, be careful when sleeping with it all night. Like any other lamps, they can overheat and could potentially start a fire. I usually turn mine on during “wind-down” time before bed.

Keep Your Room Clean

I know, I know. Sounds like an obvious statement. But making sure to vacuum and dust a little extra can really help to relieve your allergies naturally.

Make sure to clean your fans, curtains, and bedding regularly to keep things as clean as possible. This also helps to keep your air purifier lasting longer since it has less dust to suck in.

So, Basically

Keeping your air clean and purified is going to be your best bet for relieving allergies naturally. I also like to use eye-drops or nasal spray when I need a little extra moisture. Give these tips a try, and let me know if it helps!
