Fitness trackers can be an amazing tool to not only, well, track your fitness – but actually, motivate you to want to get more in! Mobvoi sent me their Ticband to try out recently, and I have been loving it! There are a ton of features, and since using it I have been learning so much about myself. Let’s talk about it, shall we?

Getting Back into My Groove

So, I have been getting real with making some healthy changes in my life. As you know, I have been doing a nutrition course that has helped me with my relationship to food. Tracking my health has really made me take it more seriously. Since working out is a bonus, I’ve been wanting to get back into walking and running outside more frequently. It has helped me so much to be able to track the amount of exercise I do on the daily. Really, it also made me realize that I’m not really doing enough either! I haven’t been this motivated in a while, and I gotta say – it feels good.

Walking More Throughout the Day

As an online business owner, it can sometimes be hard to walk away from the computer, you know? I get in my creation zone and before I know it, hours have flown by. I have found that the Ticband’s hourly reminders have really helped me realize how much time I spend sitting in a row. It’s crazy. The little vibration reminder goes off and I often think, “What? It’s been an hour already!?” I love this! It’s so important to move your body, especially if your job has you sitting a lot. Even a quick 5 minute walk every hour will do wonders throughout the day. Think about it, if you work 8 hours, that’s 40 extra minutes of walking!

Burning 4x the Calories

Another thing that has really helped motivate me is the calorie tracking. Although I don’t track my caloric intake, there’s something motivating about seeing what I’m burning. Idk, it’s like a challenge! How many calories can I burn today? I’m starting to fit in times of the day to start running with my dog and just take frequent walks. It has really upped my vibe, and honestly, I haven’t felt so good in a while. And I mean, I’ve noticed that I have burning way more calories than usual just because I’m trying to! I’m basically in a mini competition with myself every single day.

Sleep Tracking

You probably won’t believe this after everything I just said I loved about this band, but sleep tracking was the only thing I cared about in the beginning. I am a total sleep snob, and I’ve been dying for something to help me track my sleep. After using this for awhile, I am starting to see patterns. When I drink coffee, no matter what time of day, I typically sleep worse. (Unless I’m drinking Mushroom coffee.) If I don’t do my evening routine, I sleep worse. Once I started seeing these patterns, crafting the perfect plan for good sleep became so easy! And you guys, sleep is everything.

Tracking My Heart Rate

Now the heart rate feature was probably one I didn’t really care to have. In reality, I just wasn’t educated on it enough to realize how important this actually is. I decided to do some research, and actually, it’s pretty good info to have! Basically, I’ve been paying more attention to my resting heart rate. If my heart rate doesn’t go up when I exercise, then I know I’m not going hard enough. On the other end, if it gets too high, I know it’s time to slow down a bit. You want to make sure you are pushing yourself, but not overdoing it. That can be hard to do without knowing your heart rate regularly. I also didn’t realize that my heart rate is a little high, and I’m looking into the cause of that now. I would have never known without the Ticband.

Conclusion
