I’m not going to lie, I was kind of skeptical about trying these. I’ve implemented cauliflower into tons of recipes (usually as a replacement for potatoes) but hot wings? Not sure about that.
Now, these would definitely be healthier if they weren’t breaded. But in my opinion, if you are going to eat healthy, you need to balance. And balance means if I’m making a healthy veg-ified version of hot wings – they will be breaded.
These are great to make as an appetizer with celery, carrots, and ranch. We had them for dinner, and I’m not gonna lie, it was weird accepting these as a side because they tasted so amazing.
So, you wanna give them a try?
- 1 large head cauliflower (cut into bite size pieces)
- 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (depending on the size of your head of cauliflower)
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup gluten free bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
In a large bowl, drizzle the olive oil over the cauliflower and toss to coat well.
Pour the breadcrumbs over and toss again to coat.
Pour cauliflower onto a parchment lined baking sheet and spread out into one layer.
Roast for 20 minutes or until cauliflower starts to get tender.
Take out of oven and pour back into the large bowl.
Pour hot sauce over cauliflower and toss to coat. (Add extra bread crumbs as needed)
Place back in oven for another 10-15 minutes until edges become crispy
Take out of oven and enjoy!
