“How do you find the motivation to work out every single day?”
“What do you do to motivate yourself?”
“How do you stay motivated?”
“What do you do when you’re feeling unmotivated?”

These are some of the main questions you will hear when you have a weight loss transformation. People are desperate for the secret of staying motivated.

Here is the secret;

There is no such thing as motivation. Motivation is a figment of your imagination. Not one person who is successful wakes up every single day with motivation. Believe it or not, life happens to every single one of us.

The difference between successful and unsuccessful people is not that successful people have more motivation naturally. Successful people create momentum.

You can apply this rule to most goals in life, but we’ll stick with the topic of working out since it’s such a big one.

Momentum building can and usually starts out small. The problem is, most¬†people who think they’re motivated to make a change start by¬†going to the gym for hours a day until they get burnt out.

Start small. Promise yourself you can dedicate 5 minutes per day, at least. If once you start, you feel like tackling the whole workout (which most of the time you do) then do it! This is important on the days where you do NOT want to work out. The days you tell yourself it’s your rest day when you had it 4 days ago. Do 5 minutes, and keep building the momentum.

If you get a little voice in your head that says, “Don’t do 5 minutes, it doesn’t even matter.” Do. Not. Listen. That is your brain trying to make excuses. 5 minutes DOES matter. 5 minutes is better than 0 minutes. 5 minutes keeps momentum ALIVE!

Once you gain momentum, you’ll have created a habit. Once you have your habit down, it will be a way of life. You’ll no longer have to think to yourself, “Should I work out?” You’ll just do it as if you’re going to brush your teeth – without thought.
